HOW IS CANVAS ARTWORK PACKAGED?
Artwork on canvas is packaged two ways depending on size:
Canvases smaller than 24 X 24 inches:
Canvases smaller than 24” x 24” are shipped in a cardboard box, stretched, wired and ready to hang. They are packaged between multiple layers of archival paper, bubble wrap, and cardboard to keep them safe.
Canvases larger than 24 X 24 inches:
Canvases larger than 24” x 24” are taken off their wooden stretcher bars and shipped rolled, along with the bars. This is to protect larger artwork while it’s in transit and provide more reasonable shipping rates.
The canvas is carefully rolled around a sturdy cardboard tube and wrapped in layers of archival paper, plastic, and bubble wrap. The tube is then suspended inside a long custom-made cardboard box. Once received, the artwork needs to be brought to a professional framer to be re-stretched onto the stretcher bars.
If you have any questions about re-stretching or packaging feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
HOW IS PAPER ARTWORK PACKAGED?
Artwork on paper is shipped flat between multiple layers of sturdy cardboard to protect it. Larger paper works are shipped in a shallow cardboard box. Smaller work is put inside an envelope.
