Organic shapes collect, float, settle, and grow.
Both playful and thoughtful, my work references the natural world through form and color. I’m interested in the details, in the feeling, how things are connected, and how things are always changing.
I gather bits and pieces- memories, ideas, shapes, and color - carefully observing them. Then turning them over, I recollect and reshape them. Placing them on canvas, I arrange, reduce, and draw relationships between them.
Through abstraction, the current work reflects on the interconnectedness of thoughts, feelings, and the outside world.
I am an artist working and living in Edmonton, Alberta, with a BA double major in psychology and art/design, along with a BEd in art/English, both from the University of Alberta.
